As I enter the second phase of editorial work with my incredible publisher, my writing life feels as though it is bursting with color from my physical writing space to the vibrant personalities of the women in my life.
This weekend I was honored to share a sweet, soft space with some marvelous ladies at Messy Beautiful. A writing workshop for those who love words, those who have never written a word, and all those who fall in between.
I believe that deep in the mess of our tangled memories, jammed in the 'baggage' we carry with us is where we really find life - lived out loud. Down in the depth of the messy is where our beautiful lies.
Spectacular creative work poured from the souls of these brave women, and as I watched them courageously share their writing with people who were recently strangers, I felt proud to sit among them. Through creative writing we explored, we laughed, and we connected.
There is something very special and almost sacred about leading women deep into their 'macaroni moments', guiding them to the edge of their authentic selves, and watching their hearts open up to creativity and each other.
I look forward to offering another workshop soon. After all, we are all a little Messy Beautiful. :)
